CNN’s The Undecided

As election day for the 2012 presidential election drew near, the powerful group of undecided voters was more demographically varied than in many previous elections. CNN wanted to explore some of the archetypes of these undecided voters in a way more interesting than simple text profiles. We worked with the photographer Christopher Griffiths to do photo shoots of a representative from each of six demographic groups that were part of the undecided voters. The portraits were of each individual as well as similar items in each of their homes. The ideas was to visually explore difference and similarities between the groups while at the same time supporting a long-form text portrait of each individual. The resulting design exploration can be seen in the video and images below.
